A software bug made more than 14 million users private posts public over several days in may which was the latest privacy scandal for the world's largest social media company that said basically the bug has made to automatically suggest the users to public new posts, even if they previously choose “friends only”or other privacy settings, if the user do not notice the suggestion, they inadvertently sent their posts to a broader audience than they predestinate it. Erin egan the chief privacy officer of facebook announce that the bug did not effect in past posts also said that the facebook notifying the users who posted publicly during the time the bug was active to checkout and review their posts.
The claim over data access from new york times fends off from facebook the company claimed that the mistake happened when they were building a new way for people to share their “feature items”on their profiles that include photo and posts are automatically public. Facebook also said that it accidently made suggested audience for all new posts public.
My point of view is facebook is an unsecure social media which has the possibility to get hacked and shared all the private information and photos from a user. Facebook has almost 2.2 billion users now days but by looking at the past and considering all the issues facebook provided for users such as one hacker could get access to a user account and publish all the information from them or by having their information cyberbullying them.
